John Galliano Filed Suit Against Dior?

Now this is one lawsuit, I'd love/hate to see. According to the Telegraph, ex-Dior creative director, John Galliano has filed suit against Christian Dior S.A. and its parent company Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy for €15 million (that's almost $19 million). Galliano's claim: an employee/employer dispute, which likely stems from a breach of contract as at-will employment is not as heavily recognized in European employment law as it is in the U.S.

You may remember that Galliano was abruptly outed from Dior, as well as his namesake label, after he was caught making an anti-Semitic rant on tape. Well, apparently, the scorned designer filed in the French court, Conseil des Prud'hommes, and a hearing is scheduled for February 4, 2013. We definitely give him credit for being brave. Going up against LVMH in court definitely isn't a stroll in the park.

  2. I don't agree with his drunken ranting, but in no way did he directly affect sales nor did it affect his work. He still is an amazing designer and I hope to see future works from him. Best of luck to him!!
